Dr Farooq gained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours from the University of Manchester in 2009. He had a variety of house officer jobs in oral and maxillofacial surgery, restorative and special care dentistry. His passion for dentistry led him to enter specialised training in orthodontics in 2012 at the University of Manchester Dental Hospital. He chose to pursue additional training as a senior registrar at the Royal London Hospital, and became a consultant orthodontist.
Farooq achieved the gold medal in the Royal College of Surgeons of England Membership of Orthodontics (MOrth) exam in 2015, as well as first place for his case presentation. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr Farooq works as a consultant orthodontist at Northwick Park Hospital and Guys’ & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, where he manages complex clinical cases and teaches postgraduate orthodontic students, he leads on teaching clear aligners. Farooq has had over 17 publications and is active in conducting and reviewing research.
Dr Farooq has been working in private practice from 2015, he has an obsession for detail, and prides himself on putting the patient experience at the centre of his treatments. He is certified in all contemporary braces: clear aligners (including invisalign), ceramic braces, lingual braces, self ligating and conventional braces, in order provide a full compliment of options for patients wishing to undergo braces.
He is a family person, with two young children and a passion for the outdoors.
