How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign works by using a series of clear, custom-made aligners designed to gradually shift your teeth into their ideal position. The process starts with a consultation, where digital scans or impressions are taken to create a 3D treatment plan tailored to your smile goals. Once your aligners are ready, you’ll wear each set for about 1–2 weeks, typically 20–22 hours a day, only removing them to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you switch to each new set of aligners, your teeth will gently and progressively move. Throughout your treatment, you’ll have occasional check-ins with your Invisalign provider to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments. After your final aligners, you’ll receive retainers to maintain your results and keep your new smile looking great.
How long does Invisalign take?
Your treatment time will be determined by your Invisalign provider, based on your specific needs and complexity of the case. Each aligner is worn for 1 to 2 weeks before moving onto the next in the sequence of aligners. Appointments are scheduled typically every 4 to 6 weeks to ensure treatment is progressing as expected and for you to receive your next set of Invisalign aligners.

Made from flexible, clear plastic, Invisalign aligners fit snugly on your teeth, providing a comfortable experience without rubbing or discomfort while staying discreet.
The aligners are fully removable, allowing you to enjoy your favorite foods and beverages without restrictions during treatment.
With Invisalign, you can preview your virtual treatment plan and expected results before starting, giving you a clear vision of how your smile will look when treatment is complete.
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign lets you eat whatever you like. Just remove your aligners, enjoy your meal, and pop them back in when you’re done.
Invisalign not only straightens your teeth but also helps improve your bite. It can address overbites and underbites, making eating, speaking, and gum health more comfortable and effective.

FAQs about Invisalign

Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that uses clear, removable aligners to straighten teeth discreetly, without the need for traditional metal braces.

Treatment time varies depending on your specific case, but most people complete their Invisalign journey in 6 to 18 months.

Invisalign is generally more comfortable than braces. You may feel slight pressure when switching to a new set of aligners, but this usually goes away after a day or two.

You should wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day, only removing them to eat, drink (anything other than water), brush, and floss.

You must remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything besides water. This helps prevent staining and damage to the aligners.

You’ll likely need to wear retainers to maintain your new smile and prevent your teeth from shifting back over time.
